Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article is free from plagiarism and other copyright infringement
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Privacy Statement

Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research (JISSR) is a peer-reviewed journal. This journal adheres to the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE) standards on all areas of publication ethics, including how to address instances of research and publication misconduct. This statement explains the ethical attitude and conduct of all parties engaged in the process of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewed (Cendekiawan Indonesia Timur). Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research is committed to adhering to the best standards in terms of ethics, mistakes, and retractions. One of the editorial board's essential duties is to avoid publishing malpractice. Any unethical conduct is not tolerated, and plagiarism in any form is not tolerated.

Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research adopts COPE to satisfy high-quality, ethical standards for publishers, editors, authors, and reviewers. As a critical problem, publishing ethics must be adequately described to enhance the quality of research globally. We describe the standard for editors, writers, and reviewers in this section. Publishers have no authority to tamper with the integrity of the contents and may only promote the timely publication.

For Editors:

  • The editor may approve, reject, or suggest changes to the manuscript based on the editorial review board's review report.
  • Editors should be responsible for every articles published in Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research.
  • The editors may communicate with other editors or reviewers in making the final decision.
  • An editor must assess each submission objectively for publication, evaluating its merit without regard for the writers' nationality, ethnicity, political views, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional connection. When there is a possible conflict of interest, they should reject the task.
  • Editors must verify that the document submitted to the reviewer does not include the author's information and vice versa.
  • Editors' decisions should be conveyed to authors, as should reviewers' remarks unless they include abusive or libelous assertions.
  • Editors should honor authors' requests that a person does not examine the submission provided they are well-reasoned and practical.
  • The editors and all employees should guarantee the confidentiality of the submitted paper.
    If there is a suspicion of wrongdoing or disputed authorship, editors will be directed by COPE flowcharts.

For Reviewers:

  • Reviewers must provide feedback on ethical issues as well as potential research and publishing misconduct.
  • Reviewers shall finish the job in a timely way and should inform the editor if they cannot do so.
  • Reviewers must maintain the manuscripts confidentially.
  • Reviewers should not accept to review the manuscripts in which there is a potential conflict of interest between them and any of the authors.

For Authors:

  • The author(s) confirm that the content has not been previously published and that they have not transferred any rights to the article to anybody else.
  • Author(s) should ensure the originality of the work and they have properly cited others’ work in accordance of the references format.
  • The author should avoid plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
  • Author(s) should ensure that they follow the authorship criteria that are taken from Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research that is explained in instruction for author of JISS.
  • Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. It is also expected that the author will not publish redundant manuscripts or manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal.
  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. Others who have made significant contribution must be listed as co-authors. Authors also ensure that all the authors have seen and agreed to the submitted version of the manuscript and their inclusion of names as co-authors.
  • The author(s) have not recommended any personal information that might reveal the patient's identity in any form of description, picture, or lineage.
  • If there are concerns of data falsification or fabrication, the author(s) should provide the editor with the data and specifics of the study.
  • If the author(s) finds a significant mistake or inaccuracy in the submitted manuscript at any time, it must notify the error or inaccuracy to the editor.
  • On the Journal of Indonesian Scholars for Social Research form disclosure document, authors should disclose everything that may create a conflict of interest, such as work, research costs, consulting expenses, and intellectual property.
